Parents should respect their kids too.
Just because they are parents and supposed to decide how the child should grow in according to their own version of “perfect life”, they still should learn how to respect their children.
Especially when they are big enough to think for themselves even if this means when they are only 10. To me if one does not make mistake, one will not learn and make better decisions in the future.
It could be psychological that all parents have the notion and will to govern their children.
They tell us to learn. They tell us to listen to them.
Maybe they too now should learn to let go.
